The man who complains about the way the ball bounces is likely the one who dropped it. Complaining is all about staying stuck in a destructive pattern of needing other people to serve as a dumping ground for our negative emotions. In order to complain about something, you have to believe that something better exists.Sadly, we are always complaining about something and while in some way this seems satisfying, unknowingly, our brains are rewired negatively by this behavior.
As the youth, we often complain when things go wrong, and sometimes, we fail to direct our complaints to the person responsible. For example, a common statement that is repeated by unemployed youth is:“The job industry is corrupted, that is why I can’t find a job”. So what? Start a business!
It is sad that we like putting a negative spin on everything that goes wrong in our lives and spend a lot of time complaining about it. What we don’t realize though is that complaining destroys our personal relationships. Here is a small exercise to help you break the complaining pattern. Challenge yourself to go for 5 hours daily without complaining. You will realize that complaining only saps your energy and the energy of those around you. In fact, it even makes your friends to run when they see you coming. The exercise saves you all that and makes you happy.
I have always wanted a complaint-free world. Is it possible to have one?
